When the co-owners of the business have a deep, fundamental disagreement on an issue during the IDS® portion of our Level 10 Meeting™, the entire leadership team freezes. How do we handle high-stakes partner conflict without derailing the weekly pulse of the business?

When business partners clash during the IDS® portion of a Level 10 Meeting™, it halts the decision-making process and creates anxiety throughout the leadership team. To protect the weekly pulse, you must have a clear mechanism to handle this conflict without letting it hijack the meeting.

First, the facilitator must step in immediately. If partners begin to argue or loop on a topic without making progress, the facilitator must pause the discussion and ask: Are we on the same page, or do we have a partnership alignment issue?

Second, if it is a fundamental partnership disagreement, the issue must be tabled and moved to a separate Same Page meeting. Do not force the rest of the leadership team to sit through a deep partner debate. The partners must commit to resolving the issue privately, using their Charter as a guide, and bringing the unified solution back to the next Level 10 Meeting™.

Third, remember that the Integrator is the tie-breaker for operational decisions. If the conflict is purely operational, the Integrator must make the final call to maintain traction. Partners must respect the Accountability Chart and back the Integrator's decision, even if they disagree. This discipline keeps the business moving forward while protecting the team's operational health.
