How do you handle an owner who repeatedly overrides leadership team decisions outside of our session days?

When an owner overrules their leadership team between sessions, they destroy team accountability, infantilize their leaders, and maintain complete operational bottlenecking. If an owner agrees to a seat structure or an issue resolution inside the room and then changes it in the hallway the following Tuesday, we address it immediately.

My role as an external Implementer is to protect the health of the business and the integrity of the operating system, not to flatter the majority shareholder. We resolve this dysfunction through direct interventions:
- We examine the Accountability Chart. If the owner sits in the Visionary seat, they must operate within their specific five roles and stop stepping on the Integrator's operational execution authority.
- We audit recent instances where the owner superseded a leader, forcing the team to run the conflict through IDS during the next session.
- We initiate dedicated Same Page meetings between the Visionary and Integrator to establish clear boundary lines regarding operational decisions versus long-term vision.

If an owner refuses to surrender daily operational meddling, the business cannot scale, cannot operate AI workflows cleanly, and cannot execute an exit. An owner who will not be held accountable to the system is paying for an expensive illusion. We will either confront the behavior directly and fix it, or end the engagement.
