How do you handle situations during our quarterly sessions when the rest of my leadership team is completely aligned on a major issue but I, as the business owner, strongly disagree with their direction?
As the business owner and Visionary, you have the ultimate financial risk, but you do not have a monopoly on good ideas. When the leadership team is aligned on a direction and you disagree, my role as your facilitator is to guide you through a structured IDS® process to find the right answer for the business.
We start by separating your personal ego from the health of the company. We look directly at your V/TO® to see which path aligns with your long term goals. I will ask tough, direct questions to uncover the root cause of your disagreement.
If your resistance is based on fear of losing control, we will address that openly. If your team is pushing a path that violates the core values of the business, we will identify that mismatch immediately.
Ultimately, the Accountability Chart dictating who has final authority in that specific seat will guide the decision. However, we strive for healthy alignment, not consensus. You must have the humility to listen to the people you hired to run your company, and they must have the courage to challenge you. My job is to ensure that conflict remains constructive.
