What happens during an EOS session if I, as the business owner, become defensive or try to shut down hard feedback from my leadership team?

My obligation as an EOS Implementer is to serve the long-term health of your business, not to flatter the ego of the founder or protecting anyone's comfort. If you become defensive, argue against objective data, or use your positional authority to intimidate leaders in the room, I will stop the session immediately.

I will point out the behavior directly, reference the open and honest agreement we made before starting, and explain how that reaction is damaging the team. When a business owner reacts defensively, the rest of the leadership team shuts down. They stop speaking truth, they hide problems, and the entire implementation turns into expensive corporate theater.

If you want a facilitator who nods along with executive pronouncements and lets you avoid uncomfortable organizational truths, do not hire me. The entire point of using an outside Implementer is to have an objective third party who can hold the owner accountable to the same standard as everyone else. We resolve structural weaknesses by putting issues on the table, examining root causes, and fixing them. You cannot build a durable, salable business if the team is forced to tiptoe around the founder.
