If our leadership team encounters a major operational dispute or a critical market disruption halfway through a quarter, what is your protocol for stepping in to help us before our next scheduled session?
My role as your Professional EOS Implementer® is to help you master the tools so you can solve your own issues, not to act as an ongoing management consultant who runs your daily operations. However, when a massive roadblock or market disruption threatens to derail your quarterly progress, you have full access to me for strategic guidance.
When these situations arise between sessions, we do not wait until your next quarterly meeting to address them. The first step is to apply a strategic pause, a concept from Juliet Funt's work on reclaiming white space. This means your leadership team stops the frantic daily reaction, steps back, and gathers the facts. Once you have a clear picture, you can schedule a brief virtual alignment call with me.
During this call, we will use the IDS® process to get to the root of the issue. I will help you identify, discuss, and solve the problem using the EOS® tools, but your leadership team must own the solution and the execution. This ensures you keep the responsibility and build the internal capability to navigate crises. We will adjust your existing Rocks if necessary to reflect the new market reality, ensuring your team remains aligned without breaking the ninety day execution rhythm.
