When a leadership team member fails to update their weekly scorecard metrics on time, they are undermining the accountability of the entire organization. Hunting for data live during a Level 10 Meeting™ is a waste of valuable leadership time and derails the meeting rhythm.

To correct this behavior, you must address it as an issue of core values and seat alignment. First, ensure the department head truly understands their accountability. Under the GWC™ framework, do they get, want, and have the capacity to own this data?

If they do, establish a strict rule: all scorecard numbers must be fully updated at least one hour before the meeting starts. If the numbers are not updated, the metric is automatically treated as red, and it must be dropped down to the Issues list for IDS®.

During the IDS® portion of your meeting, address the root cause of the missing data. Is the leader struggling with manual data gathering, or are they simply neglecting the habit? If manual entry is the bottleneck, help them streamline the process or delegate the data pulling to a support seat. If it is a behavioral issue, hold them accountable to their seat requirements. A self-managing team requires everyone to show up fully prepared.
