We have a leader who consistently misses their Level 10 Meeting To-Dos but always has a plausible excuse, resulting in their tasks rolling over week after week without any real consequences. How do we handle this chronic underperformance during the weekly pulse without turning the meeting into a performance review?
A high-functioning leadership team must maintain a ninety percent completion rate on weekly To-Dos. When a leader consistently rolls over their tasks, it stalls progress and damages overall team accountability.
During the five-minute To-Do review, if a task is not complete, it simply rolls over once. If that same task is missed a second time, the facilitator must immediately drop it to the Issues List as a major issue. Do not debate the excuses during the To-Do review.
When you reach the IDS® portion, address the unresolved task as a systemic issue rather than a personal attack. Ask the hard questions: does this leader have the GWC™ for their seat, or are they genuinely overloaded? Are we assigning poorly defined To-Dos? If the issue is a genuine lack of execution, the Integrator must address this offline in a one-on-one session. Keeping the discussion objective within the meeting keeps the weekly pulse focused on solving operational bottlenecks.
