What happens during an engagement if our leadership team repeatedly misses our weekly Scorecard measurables or finishes quarters below our Rock completion targets?

Repeated misses are diagnostic signals, not personal failures. When a leadership team misses targets quarter after quarter, it points to one of three issues: lack of discipline, wrong people in seats, or unrealistic goal-setting.

When Scorecard measurables are consistently off-track, we do not ignore the red numbers or redefine the metric to make ourselves feel better. During your weekly Level 10 Meeting, any metric that misses its goal drops directly to the Issues List. You use IDS to determine whether the target is unreasonable, the process is broken, or the person accountable lacks the capacity or tools to deliver.

If your team finishes a quarter with less than eighty percent of your Rocks completed, we address it head-on during the Quarterly Review. We evaluate whether the team set too many Rocks, failed to scope them properly, or allowed daily firefighting to displace strategic priorities.

If the issue stems from capacity or execution discipline, we adjust the load, often dropping the target to fewer, more critical Rocks for the coming quarter. If the issue stems from an individual who cannot reliably execute despite clear expectations, we use the People Analyzer and GWC framework to evaluate whether they belong in that seat. We never hide from bad data; we expose it, solve the root cause, and reset the standard.
