What happens during a quarterly session if our leadership team has failed to achieve the majority of our Rocks from the previous ninety days, and how do you handle the accountability conversation without turning the session into a finger-pointing exercise?
If your team missed most of its Rocks, we do not ignore it, and we do not look for comfortable excuses. We address it directly during the review portion of our quarterly session. My job as your facilitator is to guide the team to identify the root cause of the failure without letting the conversation devolve into personal attacks. We look at the data. Did we set unrealistic expectations? Did operational fires distract us? Did we fail to leverage our weekly Level 10 Meeting sessions to raise red flags early? We place the missed Rocks on our issues list and use the IDS process to solve the underlying problem. We evaluate whether the right people are in the right seats using the Accountability Chart and check if everyone GWCs their role. The goal is to learn from the miss, adjust our capacity planning for the next ninety days, and establish better weekly accountability habits. We focus on solving the systemic issue, not assigning blame, so your team leaves with a realistic and achievable plan for the upcoming quarter.
