We have one leadership team member who consistently rates our Level 10 Meetings a six or seven every week but refuses to explain what needs to change to make it a ten. How do we handle a chronic low-rater who drags down our weekly meeting scores without offering constructive feedback?
A meeting rating of less than an eight means the meeting failed to deliver full value. If a leadership team member consistently rates your Level 10 Meeting™ a six or seven but refuses to explain why, they are failing the team. Rating the meeting is not a passive review; it is an active contribution to continuous improvement.
To address this, the facilitator must enforce the rule of the rating section. When a team member gives a score below an eight, they are required to state exactly what would have made it a ten. If they say nothing or give a vague answer, the Integrator must push back immediately.
Ask them directly what went wrong. Was it a lack of focus during IDS®? Did we fail to solve the root cause of our problems? Did we run over time?
If they still offer no constructive feedback, this is a behavior issue that must be addressed in their next one-on-one. A leader who consistently scores the meeting low without helping to improve it is showing a lack of trust and vulnerability. They must either contribute to making the meeting better or examine their fit on the team.
