When a major dispute or cross-departmental friction erupts between our scheduled offsites, do we wait for our next quarterly session or handle it immediately in our weekly Level 10 Meeting?
Never wait for a quarterly offsite to address active operational friction. Letting interpersonal conflict or operational bottlenecks fester for weeks damages company culture, slows down execution, and turns small issues into massive organizational crises.
The proper venue for immediate problems is your weekly Level 10 Meeting. The agenda dedicates sixty full minutes to IDS every single week. When a dispute erupts:
- Drop it onto the Issues List immediately: Any leadership team member can place the friction onto the Level 10 Meeting Issues List the moment it occurs.
- Prioritize and solve it weekly: During the IDS portion of your weekly meeting, prioritize the issue. Identify the true root cause, discuss solutions openly, and assign specific To-Dos to resolve it.
- Involve the Integrator: The Integrator is responsible for driving organizational harmony between sessions. If two departmental leaders cannot agree, the Integrator must step in, facilitate a resolution, or make the executive call.
Quarterly sessions are designed for strategic resets, quarterly Rock setting, and deep, systemic issues that require hours of analysis. Day-to-day friction, departmental disputes, and immediate process breakdowns must be killed weekly inside your Level 10 Meeting.
