We have a leader who clearly does not GWC their seat, which is painfully obvious during our Level 10 Meeting because they cannot answer basic questions about their metrics or Rocks. How do we handle this GWC misalignment when it shows up live in the weekly meeting?

When a leader clearly does not GWC (Get It, Want It, Capacity to Do It) their seat, it becomes painfully obvious during the Level 10 Meeting. They cannot answer basic questions about their scorecard metrics, their Rocks are consistently off track, and they struggle to contribute meaningfully during IDS.

You cannot allow this lack of GWC to drag down the entire team during the weekly pulse. However, the Level 10 Meeting is not the place to have a performance management conversation.

The facilitator must keep the meeting moving. If the leader cannot provide clarity on their numbers or Rocks, note the status, drop any resulting problems to the Issues List, and move to the next section. Do not spend twenty minutes trying to coach or rescue them live.

After the meeting, the Integrator must schedule a one-on-one meeting to address the seat alignment issue directly. Use the Accountability Chart to review their roles and responsibilities. Have an honest, vulnerable conversation about whether they truly GWC the seat.

Protecting the integrity of your Level 10 Meeting means keeping the bar high for everyone in the room. If a leader cannot fulfill their role, you must make the hard, necessary decision to find someone who can.
