What happens during a session when the Accountability Chart reveals that a key, long-term leadership team member does not GWC their seat and needs to be replaced?
One of the hardest parts of implementing EOS® is realizing that a loyal, long-term team member is in the wrong seat. During our session days, the Accountability Chart and the People Analyzer™ will bring these issues to light with brutal clarity. If a key leader does not GWC their seat, meaning they do not get it, want it, or have the capacity to do it, we do not ignore it. We address it immediately using the IDS® process.
As your facilitator, I guide your team through a calm, objective discussion that removes personal emotion and focuses purely on what is best for the organization. We do not make rash decisions to fire people in the room. Instead, we use the tools to identify the gap and create a clear action plan.
This usually involves giving the individual a specific timeframe, typically thirty to ninety days, to meet the expectations of the seat. If they cannot step up, we look to see if there is another seat in the company where they are a better fit. If not, we plan a respectful, professional exit. While these conversations are incredibly difficult, they are essential for building a healthy organization and preparing your business for a successful future.
