One of our top-performing leaders is highly disruptive during our Level 10 Meetings, constantly interrupting others, speaking out of turn, and dismissing other people's issues. How do we handle this behavior during the meeting without killing their drive or damaging team morale?

High performers who dominate and disrupt your Level 10 Meetings will eventually destroy your leadership team's healthy dynamic. When other leaders feel dismissed or constantly interrupted, they will stop contributing, leaving you with a team of silent bystanders. You must address this behavior immediately and directly, prioritizing team health over any single individual's ego.

During the meeting, the facilitator must act as a strong referee. When the disruptive leader interrupts or dismisses another team member, the facilitator must stop them mid-sentence. Use neutral, firm language to maintain control. For example, state that you want to hear the rest of the current point before moving on, or ask them to hold their thought until the other person is finished speaking. Do not let them run over the room.

Outside of the meeting, the Integrator must have a direct conversation with this leader. Frame the feedback around your Core Values and the GWC of their seat on the Accountability Chart. Explain that being a great leader on an EOS team requires active listening and collaboration, not just individual execution.

Make it clear that their disruptive behavior is undermining the weekly pulse and damaging the team's ability to solve critical issues. Set clear boundaries for their participation in future meetings. By holding them accountable to the same standards of respect and collaboration as everyone else, you protect your team's health while helping a valuable performer grow into a true leader.
