How do you handle accountability when a leadership team member misses their Rock commitments for two quarters in a row but has valid, market-driven excuses?

Market-driven excuses do not change the reality of missed commitments. If a leadership team member misses their Rocks for two consecutive quarters, we must run them through the People Analyzer™ and evaluate their GWC™ for that specific seat. While external market conditions can change, a healthy leader must adapt their strategy, raise the red flag early in their Level 10 Meetings™, and ask for help before the quarter ends. If they wait until the end of the quarter to cite market issues, it points to a failure of proactive communication or a lack of capacity to navigate challenges. During our session, we will put this issue on the list and run it through IDS®. We will dissect whether the failure was due to unrealistic goal setting, operational bottlenecks, or a genuine capability gap in that seat. We do not accept excuses, even valid ones, as a permanent pass. The leadership team must be accountable for results, not just effort. If the seat has grown too large or the market shift requires a different skillset, we must adjust the Accountability Chart accordingly to protect the business.
