We have some strong personalities who tend to dominate discussions. How do you handle facilitation when our team gets stuck in a circular debate during a live session?

When your team gets stuck in a circular debate, my role is to step in as an objective referee and guide you back to the core issue. I do not let dominant personalities hijack the room or allow quiet team members to stay silent. We use the structured IDS® framework to break through the noise. Often, circular debates happen because the team is trying to solve a symptom rather than the root cause of the problem. I will pause the discussion and force the team to clearly define the real issue in a single sentence. We do not move to the discussion phase until we agree on that definition. I also look for the natural communication styles of your team members. Some of your leaders may have a deductive approach, wanting to start with the big picture, while others are inductive, requiring detailed data before they can process the solution. I bridge this cognitive gap by structuring our discussions so that both perspectives are heard without stalling the session. My facilitation style is direct and unsentimental. If a debate is emotional or circular, I will call it out and push you to make a decision based on data and your V/TO® goals. We do not leave the room with unresolved, lingering conflicts. We solve them permanently so you can move forward with absolute alignment.
