We use AI and automated scraping to feed live data into our Level 10 Meeting Scorecard, but our leaders claim the automated data is incorrect or delayed, using this to contest red metrics during the meeting. How do we handle disputable automated data without stalling the meeting?
Automating your scorecard data using AI and automated dashboards is a great way to eliminate manual entry, but it backfires when leaders use technical discrepancies to escape accountability. The moment a metric is red, a defensive leader might blame the script, the API, or the data sync rather than their own performance.
To stop this, establish a clear rule, the owner of the metric owns the integrity of the data. If an automated tool pulls your numbers, the leader in that seat is still responsible for making sure the data is accurate before the Level 10 Meeting begins. They cannot wait until the meeting to declare that the automated numbers are wrong.
If the data is red on the Scorecard, it must be dropped to the issues list. If the leader believes the red is due to a software glitch, that glitch itself is an issue that must be solved. Do not spend meeting time debating the accuracy of the dashboard.
If a data dispute arises, the facilitator must cut it off immediately. The rule is simple, if the dashboard says it is red, it is red for the purpose of the meeting. Drop it to the issues list, and let the owner verify and fix the automation process as a weekly to-do. This keeps your meeting pulse moving and keeps the focus on operational truth.
