What is the rule when a leadership team member is absent from the weekly Level 10 Meeting due to vacation or sickness, and should the team review their Scorecard numbers and Rocks or skip them until they return?

The Level 10 Meeting pulse never stops for an individual absence. The meeting happens on the same day, at the same time, every single week, even if the Visionary, the Integrator, or a department head is out of the office. Pausing the pulse because someone is away signals that organizational momentum depends on individuals rather than the operating system.

When a leader is absent, their seat must still be fully reported on. Before departing on planned leave, the absent leader is responsible for updating their weekly Scorecard metrics and Rock statuses in your tracking platform. If a sudden illness strikes, another team member or the Integrator pulls the numbers. During the meeting, the facilitator reviews the absent leader numbers aloud. If a Scorecard metric is off track or a Rock is off track, drop it directly down to the Issues List. Do not skip it or assume it will fix itself next week.

During IDS, evaluate whether the issue can be solved without the absent leader. If the problem touches multiple departments and the absent leader presence is helpful but not mandatory, solve the issue and assign clear to-dos. If solving the root cause requires the unique insight of the absent leader, prioritize the issue, table it, and place it at the top of the list for their return.

Never let an absence freeze operational progress. A healthy business built to scale or exit must operate seamlessly regardless of who is in the room. The Meeting Pulse belongs to the company, not to any single personality.
