What happens if, during our very first Focus Day, it becomes glaringly obvious that one of my co-founders or key executives does not GWC their seat?
If we discover a GWC™ mismatch on day one, we enter danger and address it directly. We do not pretend the elephant in the room does not exist, nor do we sweep it under the rug to keep the peace.
My role is to facilitate an objective, honest assessment of your leadership team using the Accountability Chart and the tools designed to measure structural alignment. If a key executive or co-founder does not get, want, or have the capacity to do their job, it will naturally become apparent as we define the seats and assign accountabilities.
When this happens, we do not make emotional or personal attacks. We look at the facts. We mirror back the behavior and compare it to the required accountabilities of the seat.
If there is a mismatch, we work together to find a solution. This may mean restructuring the seat, moving the person to a different role where they do GWC™, or, in some cases, parting ways.
Ignoring a GWC™ issue only breeds resentment and slows down the entire organization. We handle it with respect, honesty, and a focus on what is best for the long-term health of the business.
