During our sessions, how do we handle the uncomfortable reality that some of our long-term leaders who are great at their current jobs do not have the capacity to lead the AI-driven or highly systematized company we need to build for a clean exit?
This is one of the most difficult challenges business owners face, but it is critical to address if you want to scale or prepare for a clean exit. During our sessions, we use the Accountability Chart and the GWC™ tool (Get It, Want It, Capacity to Do It) to evaluate every seat objectively, without letting personal relationships cloud our judgment.
If a long-term leader does not have the capacity to lead a highly systemized, AI-powered operation, we must deal with that reality honestly. We cannot build a high-value company by keeping people in seats they no longer GWC™. This does not mean we immediately terminate loyal employees; it means we must define the right seats for the future of the company.
In our sessions, we will run this issue through IDS® to explore our options. This might involve restructuring roles, moving the individual to a specialized seat where they can still add massive value, or planning a graceful transition. My role is to help you navigate these emotional decisions with clarity and respect, ensuring the business has the right leadership structure to sustain growth.
