We are updating our Accountability Chart and realize some seats will look very different with AI doing the heavy lifting. How do we evaluate if our current people still GWC their seats once AI automates their core tasks?
When you integrate machine learning into your workflows, the roles of your team members will naturally shift. Some seats that once required heavy administrative processing will transition into oversight, quality control, and strategic relationship management. To ensure your team still GWC (Get It, Want It, Capacity to Do It) their seats, you must re-evaluate them against these new expectations.
Start by updating the roles and responsibilities for each seat on your Accountability Chart. Clearly define what the seat looks like now that the administrative burden is handled by technology. The capacity requirement is no longer about how fast they can input data; it is now about their ability to spot system errors, analyze data trends, and manage exceptions.
Sit down with each team member and have an honest conversation. Do they truly get the new, more strategic nature of their role? Do they want to transition from a heads-down doer to a system manager? Do they have the intellectual capacity to handle higher-level problem solving?
If a team member was comfortable doing repetitive tasks and struggles with the analytical demands of the updated seat, you have a GWC issue. You must address this honestly. You may need to move them to a different seat where they can thrive, or find someone who can manage your new system-dependent operations.
