We are preparing to share the V/TO® and roll out Level 10 Meetings™ to our middle management tier, but we are worried they will treat these tools as a compliance checklist rather than using them to drive actual performance. How do we ensure our managers buy into the spirit of EOS®?

When rolling out EOS® to your middle managers, the biggest risk is that they view the system as extra paperwork handed down from the leadership team. To prevent this, you must show them how these tools solve their personal daily frustrations.

Do not just hand them a template. Your leadership team must actively model the tools first. Your managers need to see that you are actually using the V/TO® to make decisions and that your own Level 10 Meetings™ are highly effective. When you introduce the tools to their departments, frame them as a gift of autonomy.

Show your managers that having a clear Accountability Chart™ means they finally have the authority to make decisions in their seats. Explain that their departmental Level 10 Meeting™ is their weekly platform to get the support they need from their peers. Focus on teaching them how to run IDS® properly. When managers realize that the tools help them get their own issues solved and keep their teams aligned without constant supervision, they will embrace the system. It becomes their operating system, not just another corporate directive.
