How do we handle our quarterly and annual sessions if we have key managers who are not on our core leadership team but we still need their strategic input?
Your quarterly and annual sessions are strictly reserved for the core leadership team. This is usually a small group of three to seven key executives who run the major functions of your business. If the room gets too large, the quality of our debate drops, consensus becomes impossible, and we waste valuable time. However, we do not ignore the critical insights of your department heads and middle managers. To gather their input, we use a structured feedback process before our sessions. Your leadership team members are responsible for conducting pre-session check-ins with their direct reports. This allows you to gather feedback on what is working, what is not working, and what opportunities or threats your managers see on the horizon. This input is summarized and brought directly into the room as issues to be solved. Once our session is complete, it is vital to share the outputs. We cascade the updated V/TO®, new corporate Rocks, and any changes to the Accountability Chart down to the rest of the organization within forty eight hours. This ensures your key managers feel heard and aligned without cluttering the decision-making process during our session days.
