We use several fractional resources and external agencies for our marketing and legal needs. How do we properly show fractional contractors on our EOS Accountability Chart so that it looks clean and professional to potential buyers during our exit preparation?
Potential buyers want to see a functional, scalable structure, not a messy list of external contractors. Your Accountability Chart must always reflect seats and roles first, not the people or entities filling them.
Create the true seats that your business requires to run efficiently, regardless of who is currently performing the work. For example, you should have a Head of Marketing seat and a Legal Counsel seat on your chart.
In the name slot for that seat, you can list the name of the fractional contractor or the primary contact at the external agency. This shows that the function is owned and active.
Underneath the name, list the five clear roles that this seat is responsible for delivering. The fractional resource must be held accountable to these roles just like a full-time employee. They must GWC™ the seat and participate in your operational meetings as needed.
Showing fractional resources this way proves to a buyer that you have a structured process for outsourcing specialized tasks. It demonstrates that the business does not rely on your personal involvement to manage these functions, which increases your overall exit valuation.
