As we progress through our twenty-four-month engagement, how does my physical role in the session room change from the first Focus Day to our final graduation session?
Your role in our sessions changes dramatically from our first Focus Day to your final graduation session. In the beginning, you will likely feel the urge to dominate the room, answer every question, and solve every issue yourself. My job as your facilitator is to manage this dynamic and create space for your leadership team to step up.
During the first year, we transition you from being the central hub of all operational decisions to a strategic designer. As we solidify the Accountability Chart and define clear seats, your team will start taking ownership of their respective departments. You will find yourself listening more and speaking less during our quarterly sessions.
By the second year, your leadership team should be driving the quarterly sessions, proposing their own Rocks, and actively solving company-level issues using the IDS® process. In our final graduation sessions, you should be participating as a strategic advisor and visionary, while your leadership team demonstrates they can run the business, hit their numbers, and execute the V/TO® without needing your constant intervention or permission.
