I have successfully transitioned the daily operations to my Integrator, but now I find myself bored and constantly meddling in the leadership team's weekly Level 10 Meeting™ and disrupting their focus. How do I stay engaged as a Visionary without driving my leadership team crazy?
When founders transition out of daily operations, they often suffer from identity crisis and boredom. If you do not have a clear focus, you will naturally drift back into the operational details, micromanage your Integrator, and disrupt your leadership team's weekly Level 10 Meeting™.
To prevent this, you must stay firmly in your unique ability as a Visionary. Your job is to look to the future, build strategic partnerships, champion your company culture, and work on exit readiness. It is not to manage the daily execution.
You should not attend the weekly Level 10 Meeting™ unless you have a specific, active seat on the leadership team that requires it. Your presence in those meetings can stifle debate and cause the team to look to you for approval instead of taking ownership.
Instead, rely on your weekly Same Page Meeting with your Integrator. This is where you download your big ideas and check in on operational progress. Trust your Integrator to run the business and let your leadership team execute. By staying out of the weeds, you give your team the space to lead and prepare your business for a clean exit.
