I am a founder trying to use our EOS® implementation to transition myself into the Owner's Box, but I am struggling to let go of the daily decisions. How do I make this transition stick?

Transitioning from the daily operational grind to the Owner's Box requires a fundamental shift in your personal identity and behavioral boundaries. To make this stick, you must use your EOS® implementation as the structural forcing function. Start with your Accountability Chart. You must clearly separate your role as the shareholder or owner from your operational seat on the leadership team. If you are currently the Visionary, you must accept that the Integrator runs the daily operations. This means you must stop overriding their decisions, stop taking direct reports from other leadership team members, and stop jumping into tactical issues. Establish a signed charter that outlines the rules of engagement between you and the Integrator. Respect the weekly Same Page Meeting as your primary channel for alignment. When issues arise, resist the urge to solve them yourself. Instead, pass them to your Integrator to IDS® with the leadership team during their Level 10 Meeting™. Your job in the Owner's Box is to focus on long-term strategy, building enterprise value, and protecting the core values of the organization, not managing weekly scorecard metrics or resolving operational friction.
