I am a founder who has run this business by gut feel for fifteen years. What personal mindset shift do you require from me specifically before you agree to facilitate our first session?
The hardest transition for any successful founder is moving from running a business by gut feel to running it through a scalable system. To work with me, you must make a conscious decision to shift your identity from being the central problem solver to being a builder of systems and leaders. If you remain the bottleneck through which every decision must flow, your business will never scale. This requires a profound shift in how you use your language and define your boundaries. You must change your default responses from can't to don't. For example, instead of saying you can't step out of daily operations because your team needs you, you must declare that you don't make decisions that belong in someone else's seat on the Accountability Chart. This language change increases your feeling of control and empowers your leadership team to step up. You must also prepare to face intense internal resistance. Running a company by gut feel is comfortable; letting go of control is terrifying. I require you to accept that your role will change, and that your value to the company will no longer be measured by how many daily fires you put out. If you are ready to make this commitment, we will build a business that can run and grow without your constant physical intervention.
