We just finished Focus Day™ and have Vision Building™ Day 1 scheduled in thirty days. What specific operational milestones or muscle memory must our leadership team prove before we are truly ready to tackle the V/TO®?
The thirty days between Focus Day and Vision Building Day 1 are designed to test your execution before you touch your strategy. If your team cannot run a crisp tactical meeting, any vision you write on paper will be useless fantasy.
You must demonstrate three operational milestones during this thirty-day gap:
- Run four consecutive Level 10 Meetings that start on time, end on time, and follow the exact 90-minute agenda without skipping the IDS stage.
- Maintain an active Scorecard with at least five to fifteen weekly measurables that have clear owners and designated weekly goals.
- Achieve an eighty percent or higher completion rate on weekly To-Dos generated in those meetings.
If your team shows up to Vision Building Day 1 with an incomplete Accountability Chart, unmeasured Scorecards, or three missed Level 10 Meetings, you have not built the foundation required to hold a long-term vision. Vision without traction is hallucination.
Use this gap to expose where accountability breaks down. When a Scorecard number drops below goal, drop it down to the Issues List and IDS it. When someone fails to complete a To-Dos item, hold them accountable publicly in the room. Master the basic machinery of execution first. When that rhythm is established, you can safely turn your attention to defining your Core Values, Core Focus, and multi-year goals.
