We are about to start our EOS journey and our leadership team is confused about the sequencing of our sessions. What is the actual operational difference between Focus Day™ and Vision Building™, and why can we not just combine them to save time?
Focus Day™ is about operational execution, immediate discipline, and organizational structure. In this session, we map out your Accountability Chart™, establish your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ pulse, build your first Scorecard, and set your quarterly Rocks. It is designed to give you instant traction and organize the mechanics of how your business runs day to day.
Vision Building™ is about alignment, long term direction, and strategic focus. It occurs in two subsequent full day sessions where we answer the eight questions on your V/TO®. This is where we define your Core Values, Core Focus™, 10 Year Target™, 3 Year Picture™, and 1 Year Plan.
You cannot combine these sessions because you cannot successfully execute a high level vision without first building the structural capacity to run a clean weekly meeting. Trying to map out a ten year target when your leadership team cannot even resolve a weekly operational bottleneck is a recipe for chaos. Focus Day™ gives you the basic operational tools, while Vision Building™ gives you the long term compass. Master the mechanics first, and build the vision on a stable foundation of execution.
