Focus Day™ and Vision Building™ serve two entirely different purposes in the EOS® journey. You cannot combine them to save time because they require completely different mental states, and rushing this foundational work will break your implementation.

Focus Day™ is all about operational traction and immediate control. We look at the business as it exists today and install the execution tools. We build your Accountability Chart, establish a weekly Scorecard, launch the Level 10 Meeting™ structure, and set your first quarterly Rocks. This day is tactical, urgent, and focused on putting you in the driver seat immediately. It is about getting a grip on your daily operations.

Vision Building™ occurs over the next two full-day sessions, typically spaced thirty days apart. Here, we transition from the immediate present to the strategic future. We answer the eight critical questions on the Vision/Traction Organizer®, also known as the V/TO®. We define your Core Values, Core Focus, Ten-Year Target™, Three-Year Picture™, and One-Year Plan.

Focus Day™ gives you the execution framework to handle the daily chaos, while Vision Building™ provides the long-term destination. Attempting to build a long-term vision before you have daily operational control is a recipe for frustration. You cannot plan for three years out if your hair is currently on fire. Respect the sequence: get traction first, then build the vision.
