We just completed our Focus Day and are scheduled for Vision Building One in thirty days. What exactly should our leadership team be doing during this interim window to ensure we are mentally prepared for the vision work?

The thirty-day window between your Focus Day™ and your first Vision Building™ day is critical. It is not a rest period. It is a testing ground to see how well your leadership team can execute the baseline tools you just learned. If you do not do the work during this month, you will waste half of your first Vision Building session correcting simple mistakes. First, you must run your Level 10 Meeting™ every single week without fail. This is your chance to practice the discipline of the agenda, particularly transition timing and the flow of IDS®. You will experience friction, and that is exactly what you want. Document where the meetings feel clunky so you can address it with your Implementer. Second, you must begin tracking your weekly Scorecard. Your team needs to start inputting raw numbers and learning to spot trends. Do not worry about perfect numbers yet. Focus on the habit of weekly tracking and identifying who owns each metric. Third, you must refine your draft of the Accountability Chart. Take the draft you built on Focus Day and pressure-test it against your daily operations. Notice where people are stepping on each other's toes or where gaps in ownership are causing balls to drop. Coming to your first Vision Building session with thirty days of real data, meeting practice, and chart friction makes the vision work highly practical. It ensures you build your V/TO® on a foundation of reality, not theory.
