Why do our weekly Level 10 Meetings always get bogged down in endless discussion without actually resolving the issues on our list?

Your team is likely skipping the Identify step and jumping straight into Discussing the symptoms instead of the root cause. When an issue is raised, you must spend the majority of your time digging to find out what is actually broken. Do not let people repeat themselves or tell long, circular stories. Once the true issue is identified, move to Discuss: everyone states their opinion once, and you push for a solution. Then, immediately move to Solve: assign a clear action item with a specific owner to be completed by the next meeting. If a topic requires hours of debate, push it to a separate working session to protect the integrity of the weekly meeting pulse. Mastering IDS takes discipline, but it is the key to moving from endless talking to actual execution.
