Our leadership team consistently hits a seventy percent weekly to-do completion rate, and we cannot seem to break through to the ninety percent EOS® standard. How do we diagnose and correct this chronic execution gap?

Achieving a ninety percent weekly to-do completion rate is a non-negotiable standard for high-performing leadership teams. If your team is consistently hovering around seventy percent, you have an execution and accountability gap that is stalling your company's growth.

To fix this, you must systematically diagnose the failure points. Start by reviewing how to-dos are assigned during the IDS® portion. A valid weekly to-do must be clear, specific, and realistic for a seven-day window. If a to-do is too broad, it must be broken down into smaller, actionable steps.

Next, check the Accountability Chart. Every to-do must have exactly one owner. If two people are assigned to a single task, nobody is accountable.

Finally, establish consequences for missed commitments. When a leader reports that their to-do is not complete, they should not offer an excuse, and the facilitator should not accept one. The item simply remains on the list for the next week. However, if a leader misses their to-dos multiple weeks in a row, this is no longer a scheduling conflict. It is an issue of capacity or GWC™. Drop this performance gap onto the Issues List and IDS® it. Holding each other accountable to the ninety percent standard is how you build the trust required to scale.
