When half our Scorecard is red, our Level 10 Meeting gets bogged down in defense and problem-solving during the Scorecard agenda item. How does an Integrator enforce the five-minute time limit without brushing past real operational failures?
The Scorecard review in your Level 10 Meeting™ is strictly an audit of the company pulse. It is not an analysis, a defense trial, or a planning session. The agenda allocates five minutes for one reason: to identify what is off track and immediately place it on the Issues List. Solving the problem happens later during IDS®.
The Integrator must enforce mechanical cadence. The person reporting the number states only three things: the metric name, the weekly actual number, and whether it is on or off track. If a target is missed, the owner says off track, and the Integrator instructs the scribe to drop it to the Issues List. That is the entire interaction.
No explanations are permitted. If a department leader starts explaining why a supplier delayed shipment or why weather impacted installations, the Integrator cuts them off immediately. Say simply: Drop it to the list. We will IDS it during the 60-minute problem-solving section.
Allowing members to explain missed numbers during the first five minutes destroys meeting energy and turns the Scorecard into a storytelling exercise. Brushing past a failure means ignoring it; putting it on the Issues List ensures it gets prioritized, root-caused, and solved with the full attention of the leadership team.
