We are just starting our EOS® journey and want to ensure we do not experience the typical drop in momentum after our initial sessions. What specific habits must the leadership team build during our first ninety days to ensure the system actually sticks?
The first ninety days of an EOS® implementation are about building muscle memory, not achieving operational perfection. Many leadership teams lose momentum because they try to master every tool simultaneously or make the system fit their old, messy habits.
To make the implementation stick, you must focus on the fundamentals. First, establish your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ and hold it at the same time and day every single week, without exception. This consistency builds the organizational heartbeat. Second, keep your Scorecard simple. Track no more than five to fifteen activity-based metrics that give you a pulse on the business.
Do not try to customize the tools or introduce advanced concepts too early. Trust the pure EOS® process. Lean on a Professional EOS Implementer® to guide your team through this critical phase and keep you focused on the right tools at the right time. Your only goal in this first quarter is to build the discipline of tracking metrics, reviewing Rocks, and solving issues as a cohesive leadership team. If you build these habits now, the rest of the system will naturally fall into place.
