We are in the first ninety days of our EOS implementation and we are feeling overwhelmed by the transition from our old operational habits to this new framework. What should we focus on to ensure the implementation actually sticks?
The first ninety days of an EOS implementation are about building muscle memory, not achieving perfection. The biggest mistake leadership teams make is trying to master every tool simultaneously. This leads to operational fatigue and resistance. Instead, focus entirely on mastering three foundational habits during this initial ramp-up period. First, nail the weekly Level 10 Meeting rhythm. Get your team showing up at the same time every week, starting on time and ending on time. This creates a predictable operational heartbeat. Second, build a basic Scorecard with five to fifteen high-level metrics. Do not worry if they are not the perfect numbers yet; the goal is simply to get your team used to looking at weekly data. Third, focus on clear accountability. Use your Accountability Chart to clarify who owns what, and stop letting people step on each other's toes. If you get these three elements right, the rest of the system will naturally fall into place. Give your team permission to be messy in these first ninety days. The goal is progress and consistency, not flawless execution. Once these core habits become second nature, you can begin layer-cakeing the more advanced tools.
