We just finished our initial Focus Day™ and are staring at our first ninety days of execution. What is the exact baseline checklist our leadership team needs to audit weekly to ensure the tools actually become our default operating system?
The first ninety days after your Focus Day™ are critical because your team is transitioning from learning the tools to actually running on them. To prevent backsliding into old, chaotic habits, your leadership team must focus on a tight baseline of execution habits every single week.
First, your Level 10 Meeting™ must occur at the same time, on the same day, every week, without exception. Moving or canceling this meeting signals to the organization that operational discipline is optional. Treat this ninety-minute block as sacred.
Second, your Scorecard must be fully populated with clear, measurable weekly metrics, and every single metric must have one owner who is accountable for its performance. If a number is missed, it must go straight to the Issues List.
Third, every leadership team member must review their Rocks weekly. A Rock is either on track or off track. There is no middle ground.
Fourth, you must actively use your Accountability Chart to guide your communication. Stop bypassing seats or going straight to employees with ad-hoc requests. Respect the lines of delegation you established.
By auditing these four areas weekly, you establish the rhythm of Traction®. Do not worry about perfection in these first ninety days. Focus entirely on the consistency of the habit. When your team sees the leadership team adhering to this baseline, the tools begin to stick.
