My visionary partner is a high Quick Start who wants to buy every new AI tool on the market. How do we filter these ideas so we do not derail our focus?
Visionaries with a high Quick Start conative style are naturally wired to experiment and embrace change. They see the massive potential of AI and want to implement everything at once. However, this can lead to shiny object syndrome, which frustrates the team and derails your operational focus. To manage this energy, use your EOS framework as a filter. When your partner proposes a new AI tool, do not shoot it down immediately. Instead, place it on the long-term Issues List on your V/TO. During your quarterly planning sessions, evaluate these tech ideas against your current Rocks and one-year goals. Ask yourself if the proposed AI tool directly solves a major bottleneck in a core process or improves a critical metric on your Scorecard. If it does not, it stays on the list. If it does, assign someone with a strong Follow Thru instinct to run a small, time-bound pilot. Have them test the tool in one department for thirty days and measure the actual results. This allows your visionary to innovate without constantly disrupting the daily operations of the company.
