When your weekly Issues List becomes a dumping ground for random ideas and pet projects, your team loses its traction. This happens because you are failing to use your Vision/Traction Organizer™ as a filter for weekly decision-making.

To solve this, the facilitator must introduce a strict strategic filter before you begin prioritizing issues during the IDS® portion of your Level 10 Meeting™.

Before you select the top three issues to solve, ask the team: Does this issue directly impact our ability to hit our current quarterly Rocks, our 1-Year Plan, or our Core Focus?

If an issue is just a shiny object or a long-term idea, do not allow it to occupy weekly solving time. Move it immediately to your Long-Term Issues List on the V/TO®, which is only reviewed during your quarterly planning sessions.

This practice forces your leadership team to maintain a high degree of strategic discipline. By keeping your weekly list restricted to short-term, critical operational bottlenecks, you ensure that every minute of your Level 10 Meeting™ is spent moving the business closer to its defined vision.
