What happens if our leadership team fails to align on our core values during our first Vision Building day, and how does that impact our implementation timeline?

It is common for a leadership team to experience friction when defining core values. We do not rush this process. Core values are the foundation of your culture and your Accountability Chart. If your team cannot agree on them during our first Vision Building session, we do not force a fake consensus just to stay on a schedule.

If we hit a wall, we park the discussion and keep the unresolved values on our Issues List. We will proceed with the rest of the Vision Building agenda, but we will not finalize the V/TO®. Your homework before the next session will include testing the proposed values against your actual people using the People Analyzer™.

This delay does not ruin our implementation timeline. The gap between your first and second Vision Building sessions is specifically designed to let these concepts settle. Your team will have thirty days to observe how the proposed values show up in daily behavior.

When we return for our second Vision Building day, we will start by resolving the core values issue using the fresh data gathered during the month. Taking the extra time to get this right is critical. If you build an Accountability Chart on soft or dishonest core values, your hiring, firing, and review processes will fail.
