Canceling a Level 10 Meeting™ because the regular facilitator is absent is a major violation of the weekly pulse. The strength of your organization lies in its discipline, and the weekly meeting must remain sacred regardless of who is in the room.

To solve this, you must establish a designated co-facilitator or backup facilitator who is fully trained and ready to run the meeting at a moment's notice. Usually, if the Integrator is the primary facilitator, the Visionary or another leadership team member should be the designated backup.

The backup facilitator must run the exact same Level 10 Meeting agenda, using the exact same time allocations. Do not allow the meeting to devolve into a casual catch-up or an unstructured status update just because the boss is away.

The entire team must take ownership of the meeting discipline. If the backup facilitator allows agenda drift or lets debate occur during the scorecard review, other team members must call it out. By proving that the meeting can run seamlessly without the Integrator, you build institutional strength and ensure that your weekly accountability never relies on a single individual.
