I am a strong-willed, fast-moving Visionary, and my team often holds back their real opinions during meetings. How do you facilitate our sessions to ensure my voice does not drown out the rest of the leadership team, especially when we are defining our Accountability Chart?

A strong, fast-moving Visionary is a tremendous asset, but they can also unintentionally silence their leadership team. If your team is constantly deferring to your opinion, you are not getting the best out of your people, and your business is at risk.

During our session days, my facilitation style is designed to level the playing field. I create a safe, structured environment where every leadership team member has an equal voice. We do not make decisions based on who has the loudest voice or the highest title. We make decisions based on what is best for the organization.

We use specific tools like the Accountability Chart and the IDS® process to remove personal bias from our discussions. I will actively challenge you, the Visionary, to listen first and speak last. We also address cognitive styles using frameworks like the Kolbe A Index to help the team understand how you process information compared to how they do.

By structuring our debates and ensuring everyone contributes, we build a culture of healthy, constructive conflict. Your team will learn how to push back on your ideas without fear, resulting in better decisions, stronger alignment, and a leadership team that takes genuine ownership of the company's future.
