If we decide to integrate the Step by Step Exit framework into our quarterly cadence, how do we divide our limited session day time between solving immediate operational issues and addressing the six exit disciplines?
We do not compromise your operational execution to focus on your exit strategy. If your daily business operations are failing, your company will not be attractive to buyers anyway. We protect the core EOS® quarterly agenda by keeping our operational review, Scorecard analysis, and Rock-setting intact.
To integrate the Step by Step Exit framework, we allocate a specific, dedicated portion of our Issues list to the six exit disciplines. During the IDS® portion of our session day, we systematically pull issues related to Legacy, Value Gaps, Tribal Knowledge, Advisor Meeting Pulse, Due Diligence, and Deal Execution.
If we need to address a major exit planning milestone, we turn that milestone into a dedicated Rock for the quarter, assigned to a specific seat on your Accountability Chart. For example, documenting a critical operational workflow to capture tribal knowledge might become an operations Rock. This method ensures that your exit preparation is woven directly into your weekly execution cycle, rather than treated as a distraction that takes your leadership team's eyes off the current quarter's performance.
