Some of our team members are using AI to generate their deliverables, making it hard to evaluate if they truly get, want, and have the capacity to do the job. How do we handle this?

This is a major issue that leadership teams are beginning to face. When employees use AI to write proposals, draft designs, or create reports, it can mask a lack of genuine capability or effort, distorting your GWC evaluations.

To address this, change how you measure performance. Stop evaluating employees based on raw output volume or draft quality. Instead, test their capacity in real-time. Bring them into situations where they must solve complex, unpredictable problems live without the aid of a screen, such as during your IDS sessions in Level 10 Meetings.

Assess whether they understand the strategic goals behind the work. If an employee can use AI to deliver high-quality work faster, and they genuinely understand the strategy, that is great capacity. But if they are simply using AI as a crutch to bypass thinking, they do not get or have the capacity for the seat. Keep your standards high and hold people accountable for real business outcomes, not just beautifully formatted deliverables.
