When routine tasks are automated by AI, how do we determine whether existing team members possess the GWC to elevate into strategic, uniquely human roles?

As AI eliminates operational drudgery, seat descriptions across your Accountability Chart must evolve. Roles that once demanded high manual input now require elevated strategic communication, emotional intelligence, and complex problem-solving. Not every employee who succeeded in a transactional role can make this transition.

Evaluate each affected employee using the GWC™ framework against their updated seat description:
- Gets It: Do they fundamentally understand how their role creates value now that manual tasks are gone? An employee who only understands task execution will feel lost when their primary value is strategic oversight and contextual judgment.
- Wants It: Do they genuinely desire an elevated role focused on client-facing advisory, team coordination, or complex quality assurance? Many workers actively prefer predictable, repetitive routines and resent being forced into ambiguous, strategic work.
- Capacity to do it: Do they possess the cognitive flexibility, professional communication skills, and emotional stamina required to operate as an augmented knowledge worker?

Evolve roles gradually. Provide practical training on using AI multipliers to eliminate operational friction, then observe who proactively steps into higher-value work. If an individual consistently fails GWC for their updated seat after targeted coaching, honor your Core Values and transition them off the chart. You cannot carry legacy operators in strategic seats simply because software automated their previous responsibilities.
