At the end of our first 90 days running on EOS, how does an owner objectively evaluate whether the leadership team has successfully adopted the Five Foundational Tools or is merely faking compliance?
Compliance looks like people filling out forms because they have to. True adoption looks like the leadership team using the tools to make difficult decisions without the owner prompting them. To grade your first ninety days, inspect four hard operational facts rather than team sentiment.
First, check your Level 10 Meeting history. If your team rescheduled sessions, canceled due to client emergencies, or allowed the meeting to run past ninety minutes, the discipline is not there. Punctual, non-negotiable weekly meetings are the foundation of Traction.
Second, look at your Scorecard. If numbers are being entered ten minutes before the meeting starts, or if metrics sit in the red for three consecutive weeks without generating an issue for IDS, your team is treating the Scorecard as a status report rather than a management dashboard.
Third, inspect Rock progress. By day sixty of the quarter, every Rock should have completed at least two visible milestones. If team members scramble during the final two weeks to declare Rocks complete, they do not yet respect quarterly execution.
Fourth, observe how people resolve conflict. If managers still complain in private hallways rather than placing cross-departmental friction directly onto the Issues List, fear of conflict still dominates your culture. Passing the ninety-day mark means the tools run the business week to week, even when the owner is out of the building.
