What are the physical ground rules, device policies, and daily agenda schedule you enforce inside the room during an eight-hour session day?

A session day runs on strict operational rules designed to remove outside friction so your team can make high-stakes decisions with complete clarity.

The day begins at 8:00 AM sharp and concludes around 5:00 PM. We start with a Segue where every leader shares good news from their personal and professional lives, along with their expectations for the day. From there, we review the prior quarter's Scorecard, assess Rock completion percentages, and review the V/TO to ensure long-term alignment.

The ground rules inside the room are absolute:
- No laptops, tablets, or mobile phones may be active during session work. Devices stay face down or packed away. If an executive has an urgent personal or operational emergency, they step outside the room to handle it.
- We take a ten-minute break roughly every 90 minutes. That is when leaders check email, return urgent calls, and clear their heads.
- Lunch is brought in to avoid scattering focus or losing 90 minutes in a restaurant.
- The afternoon is dedicated to IDS, where we tackle the most severe, long-standing strategic issues on your Issues List.
- Everyone speaks with complete, open honesty. Passive agreement is forbidden. If you disagree with a direction, you must state it in the room, not in the parking lot afterward.
- We conclude by agreeing on next quarter's Rocks, assigning cascading communications, and rating the meeting on a one-to-ten scale.

By removing operational distractions and enforcing radical candor, we accomplish in eight uninterrupted hours what typical executive teams fail to resolve across six months of scattered committee meetings.
