One of our core leaders manages our client-facing operations and is terrified of being unreachable for a whole day. Can they step out of our sessions occasionally to handle emergencies, or do you require total isolation?
I require total, uninterrupted attendance from every member of your leadership team during our session days. There are no exceptions to this rule. If a leader is stepping out of the room to answer client phone calls or checking emails under the table, they are not fully present.
This requirement is not about rigid compliance. It is about the health and respect of your leadership team. When one person is distracted, it derails the entire group's momentum. The strategic decisions we make during these sessions require your team's collective wisdom and absolute focus.
If a leader believes the business will collapse if they are unreachable for seven hours, it is a clear indicator of structural issues. It proves they are trapped in the day-to-day operations and have not built the systems necessary to let go.
You must prepare for our sessions by delegating operational authority to your staff for that day. Let your clients and team know that you will be completely offline in a strategic planning session.
This exercise itself is a healthy step toward building a self-sustaining business that can run without your constant physical presence.
