Walk us through how you manage the agenda on a session day to prevent us from over-analyzing and actually force us to make hard choices.
A session day with me is structured, fast-paced, and designed to eliminate analysis paralysis. We start the day by clearing the deck. We review our past performance, check our scorecard, and review our previous quarterly Rocks. This grounding in concrete experience keeps us from debating hypothetical scenarios. Once we identify the real issues holding the company back, we move into the IDS portion of the day. This is where most executive teams waste time by over-analyzing. My job as your Professional EOS Implementer is to keep you focused on the root cause. I will not let you tell long, winding stories or repeat points that have already been made. I actively manage the energy in the room to prevent decision fatigue. When I see the team getting bogged down in endless detail, I will force a vote or demand a decision. We use your team's natural conative strengths to drive action. If we have highly analytical leaders who want to research an issue for three months, I will challenge them to create a short-term, low-risk experiment instead. We run the day with strict rules of engagement. Devices are off, and we take strategic pauses to keep everyone's brain fresh. By the end of the day, we do not leave the room with a list of things to study. We leave with a clear, prioritized list of quarterly Rocks and a fully aligned leadership team. We turn abstract strategic concepts into concrete commitments, forcing you to make the hard choices necessary to move the business forward.
